In my post called 'ENSO' I described one tool that speeds up human-computer interaction enormously. Initially I wrote this software as extension for it in order to add it some new functionalities but after original authors quit their development I made the extension a stand alone application. It is now a .Net open source alternative to Enso launcher.

Video above is to give you idea about the software and actually describes original software and mentioned old extension so you will find some differences when you try the software. To figure out all available commands look into SourceCode > EnsoPlus > CommandsProviders folder.

Download:

EnsoPlusSetup.exe

Source code at GitHub (recommended):
https://github.com/F4CIO/EnsoPlus

Source code as zip:
EnsoPlus2SourceCode.zip

How to use it ?

Press CAPS-LOCK key and start typing command. That command will be displayed automatically on screen. Release CAPS-LOCK. Depending on command it will be either executed or drop down box will appear for you to specify parameter or choose existing one.
Use command 'edit settings' to see, change and save ENSO+ settings.

You have more than one computer?

To keep your ENSO+ settings synchronized in case you use it on more than one machine I recommend you to install and use DropBox

If you decide to use it:

  1. Run Enso+ (if it is not already running)
  2. Copy ENSO+ data folder from your
    C:\Program Files\EnsoPlus\User Data\[your win username]\ to DropBox folder
  3. Press CAPS-LOCK key and start typing "edit general settings". Release CAPS-LOCK.
  4. Find "C:\Program Files\EnsoPlus\User Data\[your win username]\Enso+ Data" and change it to "[your dorpbox folder\Enso+ Data". Save and close document.
  5. Restart software: Press CAPS-LOCK key and start typing "restart ENSO & ENSO+". Release CAPS-LOCK.
  6. To avoid anoying DropBox notifications change ENSO+ log locations back to original folder: press CAPS-LOCK key and start typing "edit general settings". Release CAPS-LOCK. Find and edit ActionsLogFilePath, ErrorFilePath and ExceptionsFilePath so that they all point to "C:\Program Files\EnsoPlus\User Data\[your win username]\Enso+ Data\Logs\Enso+.log"
Of course, if you installed ENSO+ to a different folder you should use that one instead "C:\Program Files\EnsoPlus".

Can not run application for some reason?

Application requires .Net Framework 3.5. It is installed by default on Windows 7. On older Windows it needs to be installed (setup should guide you). In Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 it needs to be enabled and here is how to do it:

1. Press the Windows key Windows logo on your keyboard, type Windows Features, and press Enter. This brings up the Turn Windows features on or off dialog box. Alternately, open Control Panel, click on the Programs items, and then click on “Turn Windows features on or off” under Programs and Features.

2. Select the .NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0) check box, press OK, and reboot your computer if prompted.

Still can not run application? Feel free to post your problem bellow.
